This is my commemorative poster on 1968. I wanted to focus on Afro-American civil rights, as a main topic. That is why Martin Luther King is the only personality on the whole poster as he was a symbol in those years. His eyes, full of hope, are looking at the headline: “the 68, a great number”. This to emphasize both Luther King’s and those years fights for civil rights greatness. I have also written the recurring words “I have a dream” of his famous speech in the background. To his famous speech I added the word “still” to mean that his dream is still current. Thus the background becomes the sub headline, as a pattern, meaning that his dream was a constant thought for him and it must be for our generation too. Purposedly, I used the colours of the American flag: blue, red and white.
